Sounds like an old DJ shadow type track. I think you need to start off by setting your bpm to about 138-142. That will get you the basic speed for which you will put your drums.. Give other tracks a listen first and get the feel of the drum tracks.. train your ears to pick out different instruments..
Sounding good though man.. keep up the work and don't get put off easily.

I thought the tempo was fine? I imported eastern jam into cubase, lined the drums up and it mixed perfectly. Maybe its the lack of hats or percussion that threw you off?

sounding really good with that vocal man, minimal..drums sound like they're at the right tempo but just dont sound very dubsteppy in the way theyre laid out

Yeh i see what you mean, need some more percussion and hats inbetween the kicks and snare me thinks.
