Obviously it would ultimately come down to preference, what do you guys reckon though?

Most expensive ones I found where audeze LCD 3's
Anyone know if the quality is as high as the price ?

I always thought this. Spend more money = Better quality product. Unfortunately with headphones and studio equipment you have to sit and test them out as its all down to preference. Opinions and reviews are a good basis to go off but it boils down to you mainly?
Hate to be a cunt with my answer but it's usually the case with these things? :|

Yeah that's pretty much it isn't it!

In prepared to spend abit of money on a really good set of cans as I'm not going to be able to have monitors for another year... Those LCD 3 s seem to be the pinnacle but fuck there expensive! Might be an overkill for production

If I were in your position (which I was a few months ago) I'd get one decent pair for roughly £250 and another £30 pair just for reference and before you make anything on either just listen to as many tracks as poss, so you can get a decent referencing point on which frequencies are balanced and which aren't.
I ended up putting my purchase on hold as I need to build/fix my PC first but I have my eye on the DT990's pro's.
At the mo my reference pair are pioneer SE-M290 they were €30 and they are really decent for what they are. But they lie on sub and highs! :-/

    Hello.
You can buy the most accurate headphones on the market. But if you don't have a pretty well trained year 100 $ headphones and 500 , wown't be any difference. Buying my AKGs k141 monitor headphones clearly gave my productions more quality. but I don t see where would a more expensive set of headphones help me now. That's what i think after a very long time in production.

Fletch the amount you moan is just as tedious as these re-occurring threads.

Sorry for reposting a thread. I understand how upsetting it must be.

Beats by Dre. Why? Because guess what a lot of your audience is going to listen to your music from.
