i'm learning how to take people down, how to punch them, kick them (i have quite a repertoire of kicks now), escape if they grab me, defence against a knife attack... you know, just the usual badass shit.
some of the nerds in the class are obsessed with UFC. I remember in my very first class, the first thing one guy said to me was 'do you watch UFC?'. I facepalmed in my head.
