Hello guys,
I looked through the stickies and didn't find a great answer to this. So when mixing down for sending tunes to labels what level should you be at? I've heard anywhere from -2db to -6db. I've heard that it is ok to do a quick master job yourself and that it is better to have nothing on the master channel.
Also, let's say you're uploading a tune to soundcloud to get feedback and potentially send to label owners, would you try to have a louder mix or stick with a -6db mixdown?
Can any label owners or producers experienced with a variety of labels clarify for me?
Thanks
