The subject was just explaining where I got the samples.. that tom fill loop at the beginning and the "1 2 3 4" were taken from a misfits CD. The "tightenup" loop is one of the staples of jungle, as I'm sure you know. If you dunno who the misfits are, they are (I think) the quintessential american punk band from the late 70's / 80's.

Someone mentioned on the [dnb-prod] list that they think punk and jungle have a fair amount in common - not in terms of their sound, but in terms of how they grew into their own genres: as sped up adrenaline-infused exaggerations of their roots (metal -> punk ? and hardcore->jungle ?)

I dont know much about punk at all, or the misfits, so I might be way off on that part... its a friends CD I borrowed =)
