Microphone connection question

I am looking into purchasing the Shure SM58 microphone for use with my music production

The connection is described as a "three-pin professional audio connector (male XLR type)"

So how do I connect this into my computer? Would I be better off just going with a USB microphone instead?

u will need a sound card, USB sound slike a better option if ya not too serious bout the game mate.

^^ thatta be fine just to plug in. If not you will need some sort of XLR connection for any other mic, and dont forget about phantom power if its an condenser

but usb microphone sounds so much easier and im not at the level where i need some insane microphone

yea mate usb mic is a definate winner. quality will be decent and then when you feel the need for it you can always invest in a normal dynamic or condenser. but ultimately to have a normal mic going into your pc you would need an audio interface with XLR inputs.
