Hey guys,

I'm very new to producing this genre of music all though I have been listening to it for years, after acquiring the knowledge I gained from recording and mixing metal and classical music I finally decided to give producing some Dnb a shot
Here's my first track, it would be amazing if you guys could give me some feedback or thoughts on it. thanks very much

Thanks very much for listening man, yeah I'm not really sure what I would categorize it as either haha. My electronic projects will not be related to metal but be on the more melodic side as writing heavy all the time takes its tool on your creativity for em anyways, thanks for the recommendation I'l give it a listen now!

Interesting arrangement and composition - not your traditional drum & bass structure, but there's nothing wrong with that! Your drum processing could do with a bit of work though, they sound a bit rigid and unnatural for my liking. What are you using to make your drums?

Also, you might want to keep in mind that there's already a DnB producer called Axiom - https://soundcloud.com/axiom

For sure dude, my first track also sounded nothing much like drum n bass. just a song with drum n bass drums, but i think its mostly cause your drums dont stand much, i dont know. Anyways sounds good musically, just gotta find good drum samples and such and the kick should always be the loudest(mostly), but its also important to bring your own thing. Drum n bass doesnt always have to be dancey as well, which is what makes it cool....

Good, mix, in my headphones so far, it doesn't sound like anything is clashing at all, and the transition is well done. I gotta agree with the others, the drums are, however, at bit misplaced in the mix. The kick dynamics is good most of the places, though at tiny bit too loud at some places. I don't really like the sound of the snare, it's too plastic. Reminds me of brostep.

Inspiration for drum processing could be Current Value. As in, drums don't have to be big to stand out and hit hard. CV isn't that melodic, but he got dat drums. I want a girl that sounds like his snares.

Thanks guys, yeah I'm not really going for a full on drum and bass structure want to try something different. I agree with all of you guys though I really need to rework the drums, I was using ezdrummer which i used for all my previous metal mixes havent been looking for samples but i must get on that, also thanks a million for telling me about the producer with the same name, could have been a bad move! I'l repost here once i get the drums sorted

Hey man! What kind of metal did you mix, before starting with DnB? I'm being honest to you, saying that I didn't listen to the whole track, just a few seconds. But I liked the way you built the drum tracks together with the melodic phrases!

As said before, Current Value is a pretty good artist you can use as inspiration, specially because of his drum works. Also, I'd say to you listen to some neurofunk, there are some very agressive songs out there that could inspire you too.

I'm working on a track that mixes neurofunk with extreme metal (like using blast beat drums). It's quite a lot of work to make those two pretty different styles to sit well together. Anyways, keep it up, man!
