CHASE AND STATUS

How many artists / producers can count Jay Z, Snoop Dogg and Pharrell as fans, as well as drum and bass’ finest Andy C, Hype and Pendulum; enjoy heavy rotation in the hands of dub-step royalty such as N-Type and Skream; and have each release enthusiastically supported by Annie Mac and Zane Lowe? This is what Saul Milton and Will Kennard, producing under the name Chase & Status, have achieved in 5 years, and the highlight of their young career so far has been their debut LP ‘More Than Alot’ which has helped turn them into a unique urban phenomenon, and become the biggest crossover act to come out of the underground since Pendulum.

SUBFOCUS:

It all started with a demo CD being passed on by a friend to the biggest drum and bass DJ in the world, Ram Records’ boss Andy C in 2003, with a phone number badly scribbled on the cover.
Impressed by the quality of the production, Andy, after a few tries, managed to dial the right digits and talk to Subfocus. The result of that conversation was the release of ‘Down The Drain’ on Andy C and Red One’s experimental offshoot Frequency in 2003, and the start of Subfocus’ meteoric rise to fame in drum and bass circles.

16 BIT

Best known for their brutal dubstep monster ‘Chainsaw Calligraphy’ and other perverse sonic experiments such as ‘In The Death Car’, ‘Jump’ and their remix of Borgore’s ‘Foes’; 16BIT will fuck your mind, body and soul into submission with some of the most beautifully demented dubstep coming outta the UK.

NETSKY
Rarely have we seen someone rise through the ranks this quickly, and having a Belgian passport doesn’t often turn D+B heads, so you can be sure it’s his tunes which do the talking. In less than 12 months Netsky has secured releases on some of the biggest names in the scene, Liq-Weed Ganja, Spearhead and Talkin Beatz gained DJ support from the likes of Friction, Hype and Fabio and also earned a nomination as “Best Upcoming Producer” within just months of his first release at the Drum + Bass Arena Awards. With his blend of uplifting , melancholic melodies and heavy dancefloor bass + beats it wasn’t long before Netsky was well on the radar of London Elektricity and High Contrast. “Smile” made it onto Hospitality’s “This Is Drum + Bass”. Expect a sneaky peak at what Netsky has instore for hospital on Logistics’ Hospital Mix 8 due out early 2010.
