MC Astro - The Life Of.. (Hipstep Video)

quoted from the link in your signature:

Drum and bass (commonly abbreviated to d&b, DnB, dnb, d'n'b, drum n bass and drum & bass) is a type of electronic dance music also known as jungle which emerged in the early 1990s. The genre is characterised by fast tempo broken beat drums (generally between 160–180 beats per minute)

This track is written at 172 bpm

if you dont like it, its simple enough just to say so

The MC is better than most over here!... As long as he is promoting the dnb sound, I dont business!...

I'll take back my comment, the drums get very nice after a while listening. Where can I get the album? Also - we need more mixes in this style.

I might put hipstep in as a viable subgenre in the wiki article...

the album will be available in stores and online just in time for the Winter Music Conference in Miami 08.

If you are looking for hipstep mixes, look up DJ I-Cue and the Ingenious Music / Konkrete Jungle / Digital Konfusion crew in NYC... those guys pioneered the hipstep sound that we are promoting (there is also a track on the album collaborating with I-Cue and MC T.R.A.C. from DK)

Dustek... I see where you went to on the slow bizzle but there is some elements of dnb there... It would be good to hear him live at a big outdoor ting...

As you also said and I was thinking that he must have some more rhymes & darker, faster material because it seemed that he was actually talking sense which is a refreshing change and I would like to hear some more...

Maybe a new geeza to champion his cause?... Did you see that picture when he was younger?...

You guys really should be promoting the sound through forums like these... I'm guessing you can reach 99% of junglists through Dogs On Acid, Dnb Arena and Dnbforum.com. Post mixes into the mix forum here and plenty of junglists will be bopping along and buying the cds.

oh we will for sure...

we have been in the studio and in the office putting together this album / launch for the last year, and the major push will come in the next few months...

this is just a teaser.

and im avoiding DOA until the product is finalized, because I know it will be ripped for being raw.

I'll get together and make a post in the mix forum of a bunch of hipstep / dnb mixes

btw, not that you guys are probably into it, but MC Astro is featured on several internationally distributed house releases as well, from Granite & Phunk, Roos, and several others

the bigger ones:
Granite & Phunk - One & Only
Roos - Imagination
Discogs for Astro (Incomplete)
