Mastering in FL. (I need some help)

I'm pretty sure there is million threads about it, but...

I have some trouble with limiters. When i produce something I want to keep it loud and under 0db. But when I use limiter, then somehow my snares lost their energy in mix, high frequency goes very quiet. I have tried to sidechain them, but still, it doesn't sound right. Actually not just snares, but drums mainly. I need some help, I'm using FL studio.

when you limit everything, you decrease the dynamic range, and all the 'snap' and 'kerfizzle' disappears from your drums.
don't worry about loudness, just try to make it sound good.

U need to cons on EQ not the heavy compression mate, EQ each, and i mean EACH element of the song, cut unneeded frequencys, make space for all the elements.

THIS! work on every little thing in the tune eq an make space in the frequencies for each element. its long but its the way forward!
