    Hi there..

I'm trying to make a complete map of alle main- and subgenres in electronic music.

House, trance, breakbeat, techno, jungle, hardcore, downtempo

So I hope someone will help me with the jungle/drum'n'bass part? :) (In details please)

I have allways thought that drum'n'bass was a subgenre to jungle? I'm I right here or..?

    Thanks..

First there was Jungle, then it transposed to Drum and Bass, followed by 12 years of pigeon holing sub-genres with shit names like Microfunk!

the music (jungle drum and bass) started as acid house back in the field parties in the 80's before the CJA (criminal justice act - police could confiscate and destory all rave equipment including vinyl) was introduced.

Producers started adding broken beats over the acid house tunes as well as reggae inspired b-lines and the tempo gradually got faster and faster. Although there was no point at which 'jungle' began, as music doesn't work like that, it's and organic evolving process... the first tune accredited to jungle music is we are I.E.

The evolution of the scene, from many influences includig dj's producers locations other music lead to 'intelligent' or the drum and bass part to come out... at which point it became JDB or jungle drum and bass

breif synopsis of it's origins... if you are really keen on this subject i suggest getting a book called 'all crews', it's a journey through jungle from start to 2004ish (if you get the 'remixed' version!

    hope that is some help
