Has anyone seen this MAME software?

    Multi Arcade Machine Emulator...

Let's you play pretty much every Arcade game ever (78-98ish) on your PC, in original exact versions, with credits, hi scores, continues and everything, you can even turn the colour settings to gaudy pixelly 16 bit...And it's free!

You can download games in a few seconds on broadband.

It's a bit of a legal grey area, but so much fun...

Check out www.mamerom.net with has the full set of nearly 5,000 games.

So many great samples to be had, and crazy character art...

    ;)

Yeah man, I found all that shit a few years ago and it rocks! Brings back all those childhood memories of playing Yie Ar Kung Fu and Afterburner. Not forgetting Pang....wicked game!

MAME is awesome, I'm in the process of setting it up on my laptop 'cos it's got a TV out connection so I can hook it up to my TV. Gaming heaven, all about playing this games relaxing on the sofa instead of hunched over a computer.

Anyone who's got it, download Bubble Bobble now, probably my favourite ever arcade game, so good with 2 players. The music will drive you fucking nuts after a while though

    Bubble Bobble indeed!!!:not_worth

    and 2 & 3!

All time greats, but I played 1, to death on the PS.

If you get to level 30 without losing a life you get crazy bonuses, it took me so long to manage that...

Once I got to level 78 on one credit!

Yeah, I used to rinse it on the Spectrum :)

Used to play it with my little bro and hit him if he ever dared try to collect the items that gave you mega points :D

Not sure how far we got, about level 60 was our best I think 'cos once you both lost all your lives it was back to the start.

I also have a SNES emulator (ZSNES), along with a NES emulator (FCE Ultra). It's all about the Nintendo Mega Man series (particularly 2 and 3) as far as I'm concerned. :slayer:

On MAME there's a 'Megaman-The Power Battles' game. All the bosses from Megaman in a one on one fighting game, with you choosing one of four Megamans and jumping around and firing like a loon!

    Check it out.

    Class.
