Going for the sound that Hybris gets with his drums, Noisia, Phace and Spectrasoul in a few tunes.
Do you think its breaks that are highpassed and processed for their fills are rolls
Im struggling to get the sound, really doing my head in
examples
Hybris - the elusive 101
most of his tunes have the effect im going for kinda

Noisia & Phace micro organism - the drum fills or rolls, that almost muted white noise sound

or this is a better example

Spectrasoul i was 10 - this tune sounds like its a break, maybe one they recorded themselves? I just love the flow

i would expect Noisia, Phace and Spectrasoul to make their own breaks top to bottom, just takes practice to get all the hits in the right place at the right time, the tracks you posted all have fairly hi-passed hats, seems to be a fair amount of compression going on aswell

Well I do now that Noisia uses breaks too, but they just cut only the good parts from it instead of using the entire break. They could be using single hits together with 3 different breaks to make their final drum loop.

id try to start with rimshots and very short kicks instead of hihats, apply short and harsh compression and layer lots. its the attention to detail that makes the difference!
