What a kooky idea. I'll start. It has to be small enough to fit in here as an attachment, the size limit was 1000kb i think.

    Here.

In fact is was a stupid idea, the worst 10 minutes ever wasted. I could've watched porn, that would've been more productive.

I actually found this really inspirational. Mine's turning into a tune today.

Going to try this more in the future. Excellent way to find those happy accidents.

    Nice one Kama.

I came across this thread at 4am and enjoyed what I heard : )

I'm confused though... the challenge is to make something without hearing it right... does that mean you can't preview it a single time out loud in the DAW before Rendering??? If so, I don't understand how that would even work.

If you don't listen to it a single time before rendering, how do you know what the volumes are for anything. I listened to y'alls lil clips and none of them had ridiculous out of balance Mixdowns... so it would appear to me that y'all did in fact preview what you were making before you Rendered it.

Nah I didn't listen to one piece of audio until I exported a 128 mp3 file. Just went on level meters and memory of past tunes. The pad in mine was the wrong patch even, not the one I thought it was, so it's louder than I expected.

You were pulling pieces/sounds from finished songs... ahhhhh... so you knew what the sounds sounded like then (or a general idea at least). That totally defeats the purpose : K

If you were to simply open your DAW and start pulling things in willy nilly off of your HD without even knowing what they are other than what the file is named, then 'that' in my mind is what the OP had in mind. Ya know : F

No I was writing stuff in midi >route>synth patches/samplers. Yes I know what drums sound like, No it doesn't defeat the purpose. I had no idea what each sound was(specific), but I rightly assumed that sound labelled kick drum was in fact a kick drum(general), and luckily I was right :)

"Just went on level meters and memory of past tunes." Pardon me, I thought that was in specific reference to Sounds from actual past tunes of yours. I misread that.

I tell you what... considering you guys didn't listen to these before rendering... I dunno how y'all got the Mixdowns to sound so level and normal. If I tried to do this, the balance would be way off.

i didnt listen to mine until i uploaded to here and posted it :)
I left the loop playback on my break by accident and none of the modulation worked on my synth, and as i said my drums were from some hip hop patch i'd never normaly touch... As subprime said i just watched my levels, specrtum thing i made in reason... bet u can't hear the sub in my clip tho hehe

I think it's cool that you guys got them sounding as good as y'all did considering the method used.

Nice one T Leaf, did you slice up the drums 'deaf' or was that a whole break? Sounds good.
