Kool (www.koollive.co.uk) Trisect (www.trisect.info) and Protocol are running a HEAVYWEIGHT DJ competition. These prizes are SERIOUSLY sweet, so if YOU think you can cut it as a DJ then read on....
OK. The comp:
KREATIVITY
We're gonna ask you lot to provide us with a mix on MD or CD. Simple? Yes but there's more to it. Rules are your mix needs to be SHORTISH- 20 mins in length MAX... we want creative mixing, we want you to think outside the box. Anything goes, from DDs to offbeat tricks, turntablism, scratching, using acapellas, doin yer own live bootleg... whatever you think sounds awesome and is gonna make Kool listeners vote for you and win.
Each week I will select the best entries and play them on the show. Played entries will also be archived for future reference. Listeners will be able to vote on all the entries and the mix with the highest number of votes at the close of the competition wins the prize!
So what's the Prize eh?
We're gonna give someone the chance to get some exposure and come and do a set on Kool Live, come down to the studio and rinse out live to the world. But wait! That ain't all of it. Oh no. This competition is gonna be sponsored by a major new Midlands night starting in the Autumn and part 2 of the prize is a set at this night playing alongside some of the world's TOP D+B and Hip Hop acts.
The winner will receive fame and adulation (of course! they're playin on Kool! ), but more notably will feature on the flyer and advertising for this nationally advertised night and receive a page of their very own with pics, bio and webspace for a full length mix of theirs on the net.
Some prize I think you'll agree.
Entry Restrictions:
No age restrictions for entrants, however in order to take up the 2nd part of the prize of playing at a large scale club night requires the winner to be either 18 yrs or over OR be accompanied by a guardian over that age on the night.
Applications are welcome from all over the world, however budget restrictions apply to Pt 2 of the Prize: travel costs will be met up to a certain amount, any costs incurred over that will need to be met by the applicant.
So get yer thinkin caps on and go Kreate!
The first mixes will be showcased in September.

Thanks for showing an interest in the competition, it should be a wicked comp- the prizes are certainly worth it!
Mixes slightly over are admissable- the 10 mins thing is merely a guide and an indicator of the type of mix we want, so no probs there mate.
Entries can be accepted throughout August. Entries will be heard by a panel of judges and the best mixes will be played on Kool Live for listeners to vote on which they like. Mixes will also be archived for future reference and voting.
Please include a Bio and some details about you with your demo.
