Mac Production Programs

So I am wanting to get into producing my own music and just got a new macbook(i have never used a mac in my life before) and was wondering what are good programs for this kind of computer. Also, is mac or pc better than one another??

i will not be producing anything on my pc because it has so many problems already.

logic 8 is my software of choice, and the price tag is very reasonable for what u get and i found it fairly easy to learn as well

yea man, down with microsoft, they been the big boys for along time, but they cant even make a stable program. macs are just seamless, never had a problem at all
