    Hi all!

im looking to purchase a macbook today, going to be used for serato and also getting lessons in logic.

Basically is there much difference between the models? is the bog standard Apple MacBook Pro 13" 2.5Ghz good enough for this? i would rather pay the amount needed to ensure iv got the best for what i want it for.

will be the above and general internet browsing/fapping.

    Thanks in advance!

you can pick specs and like the way i did it i kinda got a worse spec model with better spec for cheaper if that make sense... dunno what i did tbh but i got more memory and ram than the model above for less price so look into that for your person preferences

any particular reason you're paying the excess for a mac when you can get a much better PC for a fraction of the price?

    inb4 20 page thread.

purely because iv heard they are very reliable to be honest mate and as im having lessons in logic it makes sense to have one so i can work on what i learn at home.

he might have a point about RAM, im no production expert but doesnt Logic require quite a bit in terms of specs? Especially with a lot of plugins nd stuff?

The next one up has a 2.9ghz i7 with is significantly better and double the RAM. Imo id go for that.

    Also shut up armed.

Things like this mostly end up being just buy the best you can afford.

If you havent had a mac before you won't regret it, i've got mine for Logic & Serato and it's been real smooth so far.

If your only gonna use it for serato+logic and not for downloading weird porn and stuff i dont think its worth going overkill with the specs

its all about running logic and 30 plugin's running through 30 channels, 30 tabs of bare porn to break from logic when you bored and restless, 30 torrent downloading simultaneously (also porn) to break from restlessness later on in the day, as tell beatport downloader, file converter, and of course facebook and this shitty no-longer-anything-about-music-and/or-production-of-such-music forum

www.crucial.com buy shit loads of ram for next to nothing. upgraded mine and it runs logic no problems and with ram left for weird porn, converting vids etc at the same time.

dont spend £200 more on a laptop only for more ram when u can upgrade it urself for a fraction of the cost.
