Ok i bought a new soundcard: M Audiophile 2496

Came through today, i put it in a PCI file on my pc.

Turned computer on, installed the driver i got from the M Audio website, and when I turn the computer on, i get a blue screen of death that says:

*****Hardware Malfunction*****

NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error

***** System has halted *****

Now i can't even get past this screen to the desktop!

Can anybody shed some light on this for me as to how to correct the error?

Im 99% sure i'v done what i need to, do you think it could be dodgey hardware?

Thanks in adance

Hmm.

I'd remove the card and look for new drivers. A driver is probably the issue.

If not that, then you'll have to mess around with your BIOS memory or IRQ settings.

Or remove the cd cable connecting the card to your cd drive.

And try moving the card between slots.

Cheers boss.

I'l take it out and try another slot, then il try the driver.

I could only find the one on the website though.

I have no idea what BIOS memory & IRQ setting are though :clown:

when you turn on your comp it'll say press a button to enter steup, maybe delete or an f/number button. in there you change the above settings but becareful you dont fuck your comp up ;)

how much did the card cost you??

No im on XP mate.

Got it working now, and can get playback from my pc through my amp etc, but I can't record from my mixer to inputs on the card?

Does anyone who has this card know how to set up the inputs on out so i can record?
