loud buzz

recently been receiving a loud buzzing from my studio pc
coming from my powersource but the fan still runs
any ideas on wot this might be and how screwed i am about to be

hmmm ive had something similar when i had a pc man.

all it was was one of the wires came kinda lose and was slightly touching one of the fan blades

Could be that your fan is getting faster because it's all clogged in dust! has happened before too man, be careful with that vacuum cleaner then

i use air duster on the reg though-think it could be dust

yeh i had that, took my pc apart, used an air duster on the fan, got shit loads out.


however i managed to wipe the memory of my pc, so be careful what u touch

Maybe it could be that your sound card is pouched?

What type of soundcard do you have?

Ground loop problems? does it sound like 60 cycle hum?

Might be worth puttin ferrite beads on teh power leads to fans...tehy might be producing RF...got a similar problem with a alaptop...fucking annoyin

Is the noise coming out the speakers or the actual PSU?

coming out of the puter but i found out last night -
its the fan is coming loose from the roter -just a little shuv from the tube that comes with an airduster and im back on track
sucks cause i have to do it every couple of hours but better than my puter dying
