i was just wondering if anyone can give any tips on making typical liquid synths and basses, i use massive and was wondering which of the waveforms you reckon would be more geared towards it. im not asking someone to tell me word for word how to make them id jus like a little push in the right direction if you get me. cheers

its not so much the waveforms, but more the envelopes.

but triangles are quite soft sounding, where as pulse/square or saw tooth are much harder edged

but fiddle with the envelopes and youll start getting there (usually labelled attack-decay-sustain-release)

filter cut off can help too, but that may be a bit later

I usually sidechain compress a pad to the kick at the start , just gives the track more movement before the drop
