to say that it was established 'well before doa' is a bit strong!!!

thats where our view on this matter differs because to me it very much is in the same basket. ok to compare it with clownstep is also a bit strong but no record shop offered 'liquid' in the crates before it got established on the internet. feels backwards to me.
and yes, you sussed it mate, that is a reaction(?).

fair enough mate, I see that point. I guess it was different all places in the world, which makes it so interesting . My mates and I were using the term 5 years ago, so maybe it just caught on quicker, maybe we were eager to use a label others didnt see as useful. I think its always good to be questioning about these labels tho.
