Line inputs on mixers

If your gettin a cd deck I would recomend the Numark Axis 9 more expensive but it wont break easily, and there will be no reason to upgrade, as it has practicly every function you will ever need, apart from key lock

It does have keylock. A very good lock.

Cheers man, I know what you mean, you can't fast forward tracks. So you better hope you've got time to bring it in for that D-Drop!

I'd check that, it might be possible to fast forward accurately (you hear what is playing), the Axis 8 and 9 have those options (click the key as mentioned).

Additionally you have cue points which the player can store in memory (4000 of them I think in the 8) so you can switch the player off, on, bung in another cd, off, on and put in the cd again and have the player jump to the exact spot you want on the track. You also have pause and cue spots which allow you to jump immediately to a spot that you choose beforehand allowing quick starts of tracks plus manual looping. Oh and you have excellent and easy looping options. Piece of piss.

wellllll, you can fast forward them. but it's really not accurate.
not as accurate as say the pioneer cdj800s/1000s where the platter can act exactly the same as the vinyl. where you can just spin through it to the place you want.

on the axis 4 you've got a little knob which isn't disimilar to skipping through the track if it were in a cd player... it's hit and miss. i just don't tend to bother.

i kinda like playing it all out from the start tho, gives loads of time to get it proper locked in and can make for some interesting 3 deck business :)

:word:, that's what I do with vinyl anyway so it's not gonna be much different except it's mp3s on a CDJ!

don't get me wrong, there is someaccuracy in them.
but i find for the sake of actually setting up the cue in 'real time', it's far easier to just play it from the start.

either that, or just cut the tracks up in cool edit pro.

not that i do that mind.
