ez guys
i am looking for a pair of monitors to use in a small room. 3 inch or 4 max. dont have that much cash to spend though. i could do with second hand pair.

seen these http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/alesis-elevate-3-studio-monitors

they are not mentioned on the alesis website though. also not sure if they will deliver to europe.
any suggestions?

***i really dont to use headphones for long hours due to medical reasons
suggestions welcome

probably out of your price range? but genelec is what id recommend. i remember reading danny byrds twitter he mentioned taking these on airplane trips and sets up in his hotel room.

they're also used at the shogun audio studio

I would suggest buying single driver speakers such as Avantones if you have the money because they will serve you life long as a quality mid range reference, these will have very accurate mids and you can learn to judge the bass and double check that in the day time. You can even make your own as per this SOS thread. There are also some 'non studio monitor' options listed to check out further down the thread:

However if you are on a really tight budget (like I was for my little production room with the Mrs) I got these...and frankly they are surprisingly good.. of course no deep bass and no excessively sparkling highs but what is there is surprisingly good. 100Hz - 15kHz I will mix on my main mastering system anyway with PMC IB1S/Dynaudio BM6P so for getting ideas together they are perfect.

I also have a second pair which I attach to my Boss GT-6 Guitar Fx pedal and use them as a practice amp, sounds great as my effects come through in stereo.
