Anyone had it and can shed any light at all on it? How did it go? How do your eyes feel for it now? Going to check if i can have it done on the 25th, well excited!
Bear in mind that it only lasts 10 years, then you'll have to have them re-done. Expensive if you get it done at a young age and intend to keep it up your whole life!
ah that's a fine point, news to me. Can always go back to glasses i guess though if it comes to it. Unless it gives you some form of savage eye rabies after 10 years!!
My dad had it done so he could wear his lid properly on his bike. It seems to have switched his eyes around, now he can see great at distances, but his close up vision is shit now :/. Ive considered getting it, but think i'll stick with lens' for the next few years.
I know lots of people that have had it done and they all swear by it! One dude who had really bad eye sight before, he still has to wear glasses for driving coz they couldn't get it quite 20 20 but he's still a fan of the vast improvement! So I thought fuck it I'm go head and get zapped! Then someone spoiled it by saying "google laser eye surgery gone wrong" Now putting in contacts once a month and billing them to my works health plan doesn't seem so bad!
I'm paranoid about my eyes enough as it is after having 2 operations on my eyes when I was 8 for detached retinas, nearly blind in one eye, the good one is a -3.5, took me nearly 6 months to be able to put a contact lense into my eye, was gunna go for lazer but for the ammount that it costs and the fact that even if you have it it may not even work didnt seem to be a good enough option for me.
know loads of people who've had it done. mixed views. mate of mine has just come back to work after getting his eye surgery done Saturday, both his eyes are mad bloodshot, but reckons he can see alright. The same thing that always gets said about things like this is allegedly the smell of the laser burning your eyes. Thats what put me off tbh. And dont watch laser eye surgery gone wrong if you plan to get it done.
So your not anesthetized whilst the surgery happens?! Jeez, this is starting to sound like a bad idea! Will have to fire question after question at my optician
I don't think it's a good idea. I get on fine with my glasses anyways. Something about paying to be shot in the eye with a laser doesn't sound very appealing at all
Its not just the laser though I don't think. Apparently they take a very sharp blade to the surface of your eye, remove the top layer and the use the laser to flatten / adjust the curvature of something. Then bang the bit they removed back on. Just ask loads of questions muzza. My mother is an optician, and I know she wouldn't be happy about me having it done. Eye stuff scares the shit out of me.
If anyone has seen Final destination 5, then that should be enough to put off lazer eye surgery for a little bit!
I would sugest spending £300 on some designer glasses. Its far cheaper, easier no risk and looks quality...
