Our next event at Cafe 1001 will see us join forces with Pure Film Productions. Born out of Pure Music, Danny Donnelly's motion picture company is set to deliver something refreshing in the form of new British urban thriller, Payback Season… And we're hosting the soundtrack party!

The highly anticipated film will star Adam Deacon as the hotshot footballer Jerome who, against all odds, is trying to escape his former life on the council estate he grew up on. The thriller boasts an all-star British cast, including a film debut for 1966 world cup legend, Sir Geoff Hurst MBE.

Danny Donnelly is best known for his contribution to the music industry as the founder of the pioneering Drum and Bass/Rave label Suburban Base Records. Needing little introduction, the label is without doubt one of the most important ever in electronic music, and has been home to music from the likes DJ Hype, Mampi Swift, Remarc, Krome & Time, Sonz Of A Loop Da Loop Era, and so many more. Danny was also the creator of the highly successful, multi-platinum selling compilation albums Pure Garage, Pure R&B, and Pure Dubstep...

…With his unparalleled synergy with British underground music, you can expect a soundtrack of monumental proportions showcasing the very best homegrown, from Chase & Status and Nero, to Original Sin and Harry Shotta.

On the night our lineup is as follows…

Mampi Swift
Uncle Dugs (Rinse FM) playing D&B/Jungle Old Skool
Jason Kaye (Top Buzz) who did the score for the film, playing Garage.

Expect a great buzz in Cafe 1001 on the 24th, as we celebrate British entertainment with a heavy dose of bass. The party will be themed around the soundtrack to Payback Season to get you all in the mood for the release of the film in March.
