Assonance:”Antidote” A mellow intro swells into a nice roller. Hypnotically shifting sounds and patterns keep a sense of progression. The simple subs hold steady in the centre of the mix. Assonance manage to control their viscous drum programming, bringing a different aspect to their styles. Jazz Thieves “Turn Around” people often say something is uplifting, but this genuinely is. Warm brass, guitars, and flutes all combine into a sort of musical Prozac, without becoming superficial or cheesy. A resonant Reese bass adds an edge to the mix. Classic.
