I'm going to make my next drum n bass track, and I'm going to try and create my own reese bass. I was wondering when I have a reese bass, do I still need to have the subbass?

yes, but you can get enough sub from a reese. You don't need seperate sub

i would imo, cut at 100 and stick a non fx'd sine sub underneath - especially if you using the snyth to create a sub as you going to fx it in the chain IMO

After doing the above, you could sum the 2 sounds by sending them to the same bus as well as separate parallel busses for the mixdown. It really depends on the sound you want and the type of processing you want put on. Some here might disagree with me and say that you should sum the reese and sub together in the main bass and parallel busses without separate ones for the individual bass sounds over and above this.

I think a sub is necessary, either being together with the reese or a separate entity.

deffinately have a seperate sub layer. makes the sound so much fuller.
