I've always used 909 snares coz they're punchy, fast and generally a nice sound but listening to jump up im struggling to get this kinda sound snare.....

I know its a short hit but i aint got anything in my sample bank to layer that seem to work to get this sound.

    Any ideas??

Also the claps used in some tunes instead of snares.... how do u get them punching through so nasty?? When i do it i cant seem to get them to gel with the rest of the mix.... yeah its all EQ, get a clean sample to start etc but what freq am i wanting them to punch through at?

    Thanks

lol... couldnt you just dig deeper into your library?? enveloper with a mad attack and kill the decay. also maybe mess with spl transient designer on your snare . no?
