Jump Up 'Breaks'

New to makin dnb and after listenin to the likes of hazard etc their breaks or percussion sounds very simple but when i try n do it with sim sounds, its sounds very empty n bare!

am i missin a trick ere? and advice?

layers of drums. kick 100hz, snare 220hz hats 1200hz

yeah all about layering, sometimes a pro tune with a simple rhthym can be quite deceiving as to how many layers its got going on - as they are all complimenting the same main flow

download the shack up break, used by all the jump up / clownstep producers back in the day. i still use it now.
