    Alright gents,

After much deliberations ive decided to buy another set of 1210's and go down the DVS route as im just not getting the enjoyment out of my mixing as i did when i used to have decks!

Its been a long time since i brought a set of 1210s.

The ad ive seen is for a 2nd hand pair with a poor mixer but the 1210s are in mint condition and are going for £350! Does that sound pretty reasonable for a 2nd hand pair?

I know what i need to look out for when buying them.

I just wanna make sure im not gonna get ripped off :)

Kinda confused as to what to do really.......

I currently use a DJ controller but i just dont get the same enjoyment as i did when i used 1210's!!
I cant believe they have actually stopped making 1210s!!!

Cheers for the input mate, Ill see what he says!

make sure u go and look at them.
check the pitches by moving them up and down and check the lights on the platter dont go mental. if the pitches need replacing its not much to change them but def get some money off.
check the brake too. if it is slow to stop or stops then moves backwards they need tuning. no big deal but u can act like u know what ur talking about and get more money off.

    1210's

you can play old vinyl and the new digi releases, best of both worlds.

it is useful to know how to use cdjs if you ever play out as you never know what the tt situation will be like at any given place.. however for home enjoyment, i'd personally say tts

Nothing beats the satisfaction and enjoyment of mixing with a pair of 1210's.

I paid £350 including postage for a used pair in mint condish (bare in mind price has gone up for 2nd hand now theyre not in production anymore). So that sounds like a decent deal.

    What DVS you thinking?

Ive not even looked in to the DVS side of things yet! Mainly looking for the 1210s atm. Once ive got them ill then look for a decent DVS system!!

Im a tad gutted, the bloke has taken the ad off gumtree now....

People are after stupid money on some of them! And the others are just plain rude!

If anyone see's a good deal floating about let me know! I have cash at the ready!

If i was to get some CD decks are there any cheap but sterdy CD decks out there? I know nothing about cd decks! Apart from the expensive ones look well cool!

Personally.... Serato all day long. No competition.

Some people do prefer traktor, but its personal preference to be honest.

I know for a fact im not gonna use the effects etc in traktor, and i love the nice simplistic feel to serato, its as close as you can get to normal vinyl in my opinion. Lovely clean interface etc.

But to be honest if your seriously considering it i'd go to westend DJ or DJStore and try them both out.

Don't really get the advantage of serato over traktor. You might have both tunes on the same waveform but thats about it. Pricewise cheapest Serato, SL1 is like £150-200 used and its shit lol, Traktor A6 - full version software and scratch is £240 brand new. You're looking at like 3 or 400 for the similar serato interface.

In my opinion serato is the "purest" dvs. As close as you can get to playing normal vinyl. Traktor's interface and feel is just too kiddy and busy for me.

But its all personal preference, as i said in my previous post.

Like i said, go to a DJ shop and try both out, or even better, kind a couple of people that have diff dvs's and give them a go.

You dont wanna splash out on a dvs only to go to a mates and try out another and think "shit, i should have got this".

Or, if you dont want to splash out at the moment take a look into iscratch Mixlive. Proper decent budget DVS.

if that is your point of view mate get traktor 10 lol. SL4 has more inputs and better audio quality and actually has a justified price
