I'm still pretty new to producing, and I'm still learning to use Ableton. I can't help but think there's something missing from this. What do you think?

You will get more feedback if you do this ^^^^^^

It sounds like your working with just drums and bass, no pun intended, try to get your drums as loud as you can without them going over the 0db line. Then bring your bass in so that it is audible.
