...and does anyone know some artists that make it?
Check out Mr Carmack!
It's basically classified as Electronic but it's also Hip Hop.
Kaytranada makes this kind of stuuf, Eprom, Mr Carmack as mentioned.
If you're on Spotify or iTunes use their 'other suggested artists' route!
Wonky Beats ? sounds like a cool name to me
Check out Tsuruda, he makes sick beats
There's Shades (Alix Perez and Eprom) https://shadesxshades.bandcamp.com/releases
And this guy too on soundcloud. Mo Vibez
Have a listen to Noisia's radio show, they push that sound a lot.
Since you mentioned Ivy Lab, you should keep up to date on the 20/20 thread in the UK Underground section.
bass-heavy/wonky hip hop but is it hip hop who really knows
Think its called Future Bass
Listen to these if your interested to know where the sound evolved from, pretty much a history lesson in mix form http://www.lowendtheoryclub.com/podcast/
So that stuff that Instra:Mental, Boddika, Addison Groove did is now past bass? or uk bass? future garage? come on lol Future Bass
For me this is HipHop. It's sampled music at around 85-90 bpm that can be mixed with D&B. If I like it, I like it. It hasn't have to have a name really.
to be fair whether I agree with it or not I have heard it referred to as future bass before quite a bit....
I've always seen future bass used to describe this sort of music
or stuff like Flume.
Thanks everyone for your responses so far! Friday afternoon plans are sorted haha.
@CuriosityKilledTheCat that Tsuruda track is exactly the kinda thing I am looking for. Thanks heaps
G Jones & Thriftworks
wait this was the thriftworks song i meant to post, wonkiest shit alive
Lol, I'm just saying what I've heard it to be known as. I call it LA Hip Hop as its exactly the same music that Flying Lotus and his mates have been making for the last 10 years, but people have just cottoned on to it and call it Future Bass.
Personally I call it Steve, or Steven if its naughty
You guys are overthinking this, I thought it was just called ketamine music?
I've seen it named, tagged all over soundcloud, labelled etc etc. 'Future Beats' so, idk, maybe maloney meant beats instead of bass..
Yes I did mean Future Beats, thanks Vydx. That Boddika tune is Post-Dubstep by the way.
That's quite a good choice of name there...
Separate names with a comma.
