Is my mixer toast?

Yesterday i recorded a mix using sonicstage mastering studio (free sony recording program on laptop) through my vestax mixer (vmc 004). But listening back to the mix ive realised you can actually hear me cueing up all the records in my headphones, like the cueing signal has come out of the record out? Is it possible that all of my upfaders are leaking?
Cheers

It's not necessarily the upfaders, it could a bad cap or IC. It could be lots of things. But yeah, sounds like you need to go shopping

Do you drop in with the volume faders up and the cross fader to one side?
or do you cue up with the cross fader in the middle, an the volume faders down?

It could just be one of the faders is fucked...

No most of the time i have the crossfader in the middle and use the upfaders, so i know its not just a leaky crossfader...
And you can hear it blatantly, its not as loud as the track playing out but still loud enough to be annoying. One thing i have noticed is that it doesnt happen when i record using a gemini ikey, which makes me think maybe its not the mixer...? Oh well cheers for the responses, very helpful. Perhaps i need a new way to record or to start saving for a new mixer!
