Is it helpful to have a sub woofer when learning to dj?

    Not intending to raise the dead with filthy bass. just wondering if it is helpful for eqing as the speakers im using are ok but not fab at the low end.

    A sub is always a good thing to have but I wouldnt say it's necessary for learning to dj

    ^^^^ Agreed. If anything the treble is more important for beatmatching (imo). The bass on our amp is normally turned down so we don't piss off the neighbours.

    A sub is not essential for DJing, its essential for life. listening and enjoying drum & bass just isnt the same without those sub notes.

    I own 4, lol.
