Interface keeps cutting out :(

Got myself a focusrite saffire 6. Works fine until I leave my computer for a while and come back I can't get any sound!
When I try to play something in itunes for example the song wont even start playing.
The only way I found to fix this is resetting my mac, surely there must be a simpler solution??? In system preferences / sound the device shows up and is still selected as the sound output but it doesnt work.

Is this a laptop? I think when macs go into standby, it kills the USB power.

What happens if you unpug the interface and plug it back in?
 
Sorry your having these problem man.

A couple things to try:

1. Make sure you've disabled sleep/hibernate, screen saver, etc. Basically, anything designed to save power.
2. Turn off your internet/wifi connection and firewall.
3. Use the USB input that is farthest from you (assuming this is an mac with a i5/i7 chipset).
4. Check to make sure you have the latest firmware/drivers from Focusrite.
