Setting the tone on side A; haunting, sparse pads swirl around a minimal step break which is suddenly punctured out of nowhere by deep 808 booms and a twisted, gut wrench bass growl. Old skool stabs and conga funk grooves pepper the track with echoes of the Horsemen sound as each chapter of “Jungle Book” unfolds.
B) INK - MIRAGE (RAIDEN & KHANAGE REMIX)
For track 2, we see Ink’s techno-fuelled classic “Mirage” get a 2009 update by one of the only producers in the scene able to do the track justice, Raiden. Teaming up with Khanage the duo have delivered a remix which still maintains the flow and vibe of the original while twisting it up just enough to give the track a distinct sense of urgency and a more rugged dancefloor sensability. For the fans of the original, this won’t disappoint. Essential.
