If you make a bassline using a bass guitar do you still put a sub underneath?

Hey guys,

I haven't asked a question here for a while but I am actually puzzled here! I have made a kind of funky house tune that will probably never even reach anyone elses ears but I still wanna know I am getting it right. I have used a VST plugin to make a funky little bassline on a bass guitar sound and its sounding really cool so far, plenty of bass in there for sure

But do I still put a sub underneath or what? If you listen to I Think I Like It by Fake Blood here:

I am pretty sure that is just the bass guitar (or vst to recreate a bass or perhaps even samples or something) playing there but I'm not certain, it sounds plenty bassy enough! Would appreciate someone that knows to let me knowwww

have a look in your spectrum analyzer

if its doing the business in the 40-55hz region you're golden

And thanks for posting this question parsons19 (and for the subsequent answer neddez). I've often wondered this myself...the spectrum analyzer approach is definitely the way to go, can't believe I didn't think of this before.
