If you make a bassline using a bass guitar do you still put a sub underneath?

    Hey guys,

I haven't asked a question here for a while but I am actually puzzled here! I have made a kind of funky house tune that will probably never even reach anyone elses ears but I still wanna know I am getting it right. I have used a VST plugin to make a funky little bassline on a bass guitar sound and its sounding really cool so far, plenty of bass in there for sure :p

But do I still put a sub underneath or what? If you listen to I Think I Like It by Fake Blood here:

I am pretty sure that is just the bass guitar (or vst to recreate a bass or perhaps even samples or something) playing there but I'm not certain, it sounds plenty bassy enough! Would appreciate someone that knows to let me knowwww :)

    Cheers guys

    Such a tune!

And thanks for posting this question parsons19 (and for the subsequent answer neddez). I've often wondered this myself...the spectrum analyzer approach is definitely the way to go, can't believe I didn't think of this before.

    Cheers.
