I want some info about a sound

There is a disgusting synth or sample in the tunes; for example: Break - Void Dweller, Total Science - Street Level, Gremlinz&Friske - Shattered. It's a very characteristic sound - almost like amen break. Could anyone throw some info about it here like if it is a sample or a synth sound etc ?

that new system track has got a rude metalheadz synth sound that is popular just before the main drop...biiiiiiiig!!!!
 
yea thats definetly called a mentasm there well unique no1 has come anywhere near to makin a noise as good as that, use it as a rise use it as ambience in the background, well versitile but so noticable! makes a massive difference on a tune tho
 
Yep i think it's based on mentasm a.k.a. hoover sound but it's slightly different from it. Maybe some additional pitch or frequency shifting on it i dunno.
