    Hey guys,

With my track "Pouderville" I tried an online mastering service.

    So here is the result:

What do you think? Is it worth the 35€?

Feedback is always very appreciated - I will return feedback of course!

to be perfectly honest with you, the tune itself wasnt worth the 35 quid imo.

that aside we can only guess what the mastering engineer did till you provide us your final bounce.

To be honest if it is worth it, at least it should blow your mind away from your original! Not at all saying this is bad! Its actually really good!

Dude it sounds fucking beautiful! Beautifully mastered! Not flat, just maximized to its maximum dynamic limit! If you want cheaper mastering with perfect results every time, hit me up! I charge 25$ us dollars a track! Not advertising but We get the job done powerfully, and maximize your ENTIRE tune just as this was, widen the stereo a bit, give enough of a bit of air of treble, a very blending finishing reverb, and of course no phase in your mixdown obviously!

Not saying this mixdown does do anything bad, its brilliant actually! Even not hearing the Original I can see the work that has been done to it! It's solid, gets the job done and is very bright and clear! Not too bright and clear, I maybe would have gone lower on the high ends, Just a tiny tad though! Thats just me. The physics of sound how it works is that it shouldnt penetrate through your ear cavity threshold. It should always play with the hairs on your ears gently, and vibrate its way into our ears to where it can transmit the chemical signals received into our brain and process them further and stuffz :) music is really cool hahaha

There's this little part @ 2:36-2:37...now, I understand for rhythmic purposes why it's there, but I don't think it sounds totally right being there, if that makes sense. I think instead of trying to introduce that switch-up right then and there, it should've started around when the second quiet-skip bit (fuckin' hell my terminology is terrible) pops in, and been a seamless transition into the part outright.

I'm more into the atmospheric/dark stuff in general but I thought the track sounded pretty good, and production-wise nothing pops out to throw me off the ride.

Hey guys, thanks for the quick replies!

Sorry - I forgot the original. When I´m back at home I will upload it for comparison ;)

This tune was my second production attempt therefore the mixdown might be bad. But I choosed that track purposely - to find out what the mastering engineer can do with it ;)

    Thanks for the constructive feedback!

Now thats the track I sent to the mastering engineer ;)
I took off all compression or things like that from the master channel:

I think we don´t need to talk about the loudness ;)
Drums are way punchier in the original though.

    Now you can judge ;)

Honestly the mid-range is way too messy and just sounds like noise to me but eh maybe that's just my opinion.

I normalized the track before uploading it on soundcloud of course. For mastering there was enough headroom ;)

Anyways - I will throw that track away

Dude dont throw it away.. its an excellent track! To be honest Sovereign, I believe you may have a post equalizer playing on your computers sound drive simply if it sounds crumpled and crushed or messy as you said. Sounds perfectly clear to me! If you want I could remaster it free of charge for you!

    raptors, what drugs you taking?

its far from being an excellent track (sry dude, just trying to be honest here). but youre right, your original does sound better indeed. "mastering" doesnt just mean jacking it through ozone. lol.

bet id get a better master out of a 5 min session, lol.

sounds good to me man, lol i dont take any drugs, i smoke weed. When I say something sounds excellent to me I mean its enough to have a fun time, and not look at the details, personally I would do this a bit different myself to my style of mastering but hey to each their own.

Thats just personally how I feel, but yeah I would even my self re do the entire master. It seems they just pushed the limiter as far as they could.

When I say excellent track, I mean the idea of the track itself is excelllent, even with the master its pretty good or terrible, but im saying to not throw away the track itself. its a good track!

And like I said I could remaster it for you free of charge bro! fully dynamic, fully proper!
