A melody. An actual proper melody that's 4 or 8 bars long and fits with the chords implied by the bassline. Or at the very least a melodic hook.
Probably played on piano, but not definitely...

i think some subtle midrange growls and filter movements could fill it out quite well. i like the atmosphere

Yeah what wingz said. Also after the first 16 bars of the drop, start switching the percussion up to keep things interesting.

Not sure about a melody here, I think it would be easy to ruin this track if you get the melody wrong.

All about adding contrast to the elements that are there, like some ear candy. You've got lots of nice rolling bass so some higer mid range growls like Wingz said would divert the attention
