Say I wanted to get a dub cut, and provided the cutting house with a wav. file of the tune I wanted cut, which I purchased from an official download store, would the file require intense "paid for" mastering to make the final product sound as good as if it were the real full release vinyl?

For example if I took a full release wav. file of Sub Focus - Timewarp to a cutting house and had it cut without any extra "paid for" mastering, would it sound as good as the real full release vinyl that I could pick up from any record store?

i dont think it would to be honest cos when u get tunes mastered u can get it for cd or for vinyl.
im not sure tho.

I do think you get some degree of mastering thrown in whenever the engineer cuts the dub though, but I wanna know if it's likely to be enough or not ...

Coz I'm not paying £40 for a dub if it doesn't sound as good as the real thing

I'd rather track down both tunes on vinyl for £20 each and then I'll know I'm getting the real thing
