Been toying with the idea for the while...

Must be 15 yrs+ since I last rode one (trusty Ultra Burner in yonder 80's)

Got it off Ebay, an absolutely brand new FreeAgent HellCat for £97. (rrp £240+)

Collected today, so gorgeous, full 4130 cromo, sealed BB 3 pc crank, oddysey giro, tektro brakes, matt dark grey paint, without stickers - (the graphics are printed / painted directly onto the frame)...

Very clean and stylish looking. Can't wait to try and jump off things again!

    Ohh my!

I was never really big on these things myself. I'd take a 24 speed mountain or racing bike over a BMX any day. Once I'm working again I should buy myself a new mountain bike, the Shwin(sp) I have is really hammered.

    I'll try and be careful...

I'm currently nursing a broken rib from my 1st Thai Boxing lesson so don't want any more breaks. That was one reason I didn't get a BMX sooner, cos inevitably I'll break something.

But, when I was a kid there were very limited facilities round about, just 1 good BMX race track within driving distance and that was it.

That track's been bulldozed years ago, but there's now there's at least 4 free skate parks of varying quality (including 1 concrete one) with 5miles, and I keep finding out about new ones...

Seems like every park has got either a halfpipe or ramps in it.

So I can't help myself really. Must learn aerials!

I was actually thinking of selling my GT BMX today and getting my old trials bike back out for the summer! I was watching videos of people jumping on and off concrete blocks on YouTube today, I've got the bug back again!

Big up the biking crew! :slayer:

Nice bike, Chris Duncan and Rick Thorne ride for Free Agent and they both put a lot of input into the bikes, so yeah quality ride you got yerself.
I quit ride street and vert because I was injuring myself too often, and the older you get the harder it is to recover from slams. I got into riding flatland in the end, but I had to leave my bike at home when I came out here, so I ain't rode it in 3 years or so. Shame because its an S&M Sabbath :slayer:

My mate sold me an old BMX a while back, I'm rubbish on it, can't really do any tricks though. I'm sure I'd kill myself if I tried

Sold mine a while ago, had a real nice Proper Houdini :-/

Could bust some decent moves on dirt and street but I never had time to ride it anymore

    Here it is

I just bought a Mtn. bike about 2 years ago... but I still have mad love for my BMX bike... The frames a bit heavy but I decked it out...

    Mongoose Expert Comp.
Profile 3 piece cranks and sprocket w/sealed BB
    Crupi sealed pedals.
    GT aheadset semi - sealed
Crupi sealed hubs with double butted stainless steel spokes. Rear has flip flop hubs...
    DK stem with Haro bars...
    Pit bull brakes

Been a while since I rode it but it was still the coolest bike in town... I dont know anyone else that ever had flip flop hubs...
Plus I used to burn everyone because I ran it with 45 tooth sprocket in the front and 15 tooth in the back... parrrr train.... haha

I was watching these kids ride flatland on stripped down black BMXs, similar to Noxxus's, with no brakes at all. As in there were no brakes on the bikes. They were doing hot stuff, bar-spins, 180 bunnyhops, rolling endos, (right near a major road, ah youth). I asked if its common for people to completely remove brakes for freestyle now, and he said yeah, for this type of riding.

    I was impressed

I'm still waiting for my broken rib to heal properly, cos even doing bunny hops hurts.

But I have been out a few times, and have been braving the pain to jump off speed bumps...

Hopefully next week! Especially now the kids are back at school so I can hit the empty ramps in the week...
