How to make something sound muffled in ableton?

I want to make my amen come in all muffled and slowly sound like normal? what audio effect or maybe vst do i use to achieve this?

i think what you mean is an automated low pass... eq 8 is your best bet here.

1. apply eq 8 to channel
2. set '4' as a cut off
3. set 'q' a little bit up (maybe 1dB)
4. automate '4' frequency knob (probs start at 150hz, then move up to full)

Yeah i got the right sound! thanks. but anyway... for some reason i cant find my track volume on the layer anymore? i want it to come in louder and louder together with being muffled... how do i do this?

Low pass your amen, and set your volume automation manually

Auto Filter, its on Low pass by default, automate the cutoff. read up a bit do some tutorials man will make shit a bit clearer
