How To Make A Skrillex Bassline (Massive)

Easy All, first post here. I have been making some tutorials to share some techniques with people. I work with Cubase 5 and Massive. Today i have been recreating the infamous Skrillex Bassline. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

sounded quite tasty at the end, but needs 20 odd layers of distortion, chorus, distortion, phaser, flange, distortion, redux, distortion,..., etc on top of that

good basis for learning to resample tho :)
 
Thanks guys. As it says in the description, it does need a shedload of effects and distortion. Never got enough time to fit it all in 1 video! Thanks for the feedback.
 
Its cool Marlok, i get shedloads of hate from people that dont like the video's. Come's with the territory :lol:

If you don't like or produce deep tunes these days you get flamed, shame really.
 
not too bad man but i got sick of that melody pretty quick. I thought the second demo track showing the patch's was actually pretty sweet too, had that old school dubstep vibe.

I don't produce deep stuff myself so.. I like Skrillex, very good producer, and I only said that what you made is far from Skrillex's sounds, I didn't say I didn't like it.
 
you should change that melody you use in your tuts. After a while it hurts the brain. Adding some talking would also be cool.
 
I get frustrated when I see tutorials on how to sound like this or that.
If people spend enough time learning synths inside out they can create their own unique sounds!

I can honestly say that I've never watched a bass tutorial or any tutorials really.
Then again I can't remember the last time I actually finished anything either.

I think Skrillex may use several resampling techniques.
I'm not a fan of his music but they guy is a talented producer. He makes tracks that appeal to 14 year olds but fair play atleast hes getting by even if he does look like a fag or pretends to DJ with an ipod or whatever.
