So I've finally dredged through countless pages of reading on how to eq. I've got drums, bass, vocals all down pretty solid. However, I'm not sure what to do when I have two melodies (they play at the same time at points) in terms of eq. TBH I don't have enough experience, or professional equipment to judge whether they are interfering with eachother. Do you just lower the peaks of both in order to compensate?

eq one melody to be brighter than the other and/or either pan each melody to one side or have one melody as a wide sound and the other as mono.
