Does anyone have links to some good reeces and hoover basses?
https://xkernelmusic.bandcamp.com/album/breakbeat-cyborg-3 I heard from a friendd that the 808 was good. I think it's an 808 kick I ran through an amiga, and then processed with Renoise. Don't know the details really, but I think the amiga made it more harsh.

Make two sawtooth waves and detune them, distort, add notch EQ, automate, compress, distort, add notch EQ, automate, compress etc

    Try somthing like this-

It's all done with very simple effects and plugins that I'm sure you have.

Does anybody know how this bass works?

It sounds like two basses to me. The first is a very clean warm real sounding bass that does the root notes then the other bass (which starts at 1:05) which jumps around all over the place. Its the second one that really gets me. The movement is something I'm finding hard to figure out. Anybody ever made anything similar?

The second bass is the first bass playing two notes a semitone apart so you get the detuned wobble effect

Yeah that seems to do the trick. SmoothSquare wavetables on Massive works well tuned + and - 50 with some resonance and a tiny bit of distortion.

    Great vid man. Thanks.

Related sidenote: Fuck my ass at Renoise. Everytime I see it being used my brain starts shaking. It looks so confusing.

Hi! Working on the classic jungle wobble...but can't get the clean warm mids like in the following...is this just 2 detuned sines?

I love the Shogun such a simple, but bad tune. Would also like to know how to create the sound and some idea of processing.

You can saturate the sines, or instead use a lowpassed square for a similar effect. Then you can get movement by automating the lowpass
