i dont dj. i tried, and its really difficult. people ask me why i dont dj and i tell them its for the same reason i dont play the violin, i dont have time to pick up a new instrument. cos i feel djing is an instrument like any other. in production forum were discussing song structure a little bit and its been put forward that its not possible to mix tunes with unusual structures. surely thats not right, if youre a good enough dj you can mix anything with anything? or what
yeah i guess so, ive just started dj'ing 2 months ago, and i think i picked alot of things up in those 2 months as i have a few mates who have been djing for quite some time, i just find it hard to find time where i can concentrate and fully focus on practising my mixing and double drops etc without thinking that i have to do coursework and shit, so i was just wandering if anyone had the same problem and how long they practise for
I try to have a little mix every day, Usually only for about half hour or so though
i usually hit abput half hour a day, my decks are in my bedroom so gets a bit boring on your own. if im round my mates i tend to mix for longer cause im with people to go back to back with
It was 2 to 4 hours a week until my X: ONE 92 packed up a week ago.
couple of hours a week or so.. just have a play around wiv tunez.. can't be assed to keep upto date with new releases.. plus can't afford shit loadz of vinyl atm...
as often as possible! which is not as often as id like!
i try to have at least one blend a day!
when ever i get a chance really.. 4 hours a week probs. Wish I didnt do so many other things that aslso need practise
do about 2 hours a day give or take.. so over 12+.. Nothing better to do!
Easily 12+ .. I like to do the sickest sets, never go to a show and play on a whimb... Unless I know its a small crowd then just got with the flow.
You get out what you put in!
Haven't mixed in about 2-3 years now.
Damn shame really.
Serious? Don't believe this one bit to be honest. Good on you if it's true though!
Innit. Time on the decks is time away from the stress and worries of everyday life.
A cheeky half hour mix on lunch breaks does me the world of good!
normally wake n bake followed by at least an hour, then random mixes thorugh out the day when im not working so easily 8-12 hrs a week id say
at least an hour every night i would say apart from weekends just have a 2hour muck about on sundays
Ain't it the truth. Sometimes I sneak an hour in the afternoons. And on the weekends I can get in a good two hours depending on what the wife and kid are doing.
Usually go b2b with mates for an hour or so each night. Been mixing loads of UKG lately and it's sooooo gooood.
ive just orderd some new liquid dnb so ill be having at least a hour mix a night, i always have coursework and shit to do aswell but i enjoy mixing more than coursework sooo..!
