Like Hype and Andy C owning the big labels
do you reckon they earn a nice reasonable amount a year?
i recokon andy's a millionaire at a guess
i think andy gets £2500 a set. not bad for an hour and halfs work that you really enjoy!
lol no way is he a millionaire, and it costs less than that to book him
i was being a bit tounge in cheek with that comment lol. he's a very comfortably rich man though. as faceless monkey said, gettin paid a couple grand to do what u what u enjoy for an hour is nicessschhhh.
how much is it to book him then????
I can't divulge figures what Andy gets paid because it's not my place to say - However, he does alright and it's fair to say has substantial tax bill each year. He's a business man and invests money into property outside the scene.
From his point of view - he never knew when he started how long the whole DJing/Scene thing would go on for so investing money in bricks and mortar is a safe investment for the future.
DJ's rates vary from the size of the event, no of people, location and who the promoters are etc. Andy's got a good agent 'Tom at CODA' who deals with all Andys bookings.
Now Andy and Tanya are expecting their first baby sometime this year so i expect he'll be taking some time out around then . Good job he does earn well as kids aren't cheap! LOL
i know hype doesn't strictly have a price.... you have to bid for his time weeks in advance on some kind of online auction site he has.... or so i'll i've been told.
Andy C... Property Developer by Day... Disc Jockey by Night...
On a serious note though, imagine living in a house owned by Andy C...
as bassman says "the going rate for a raveman is £1000 a night"
none of the top mcs charge that much.
roni size is probably the most expensive dj though....
I heard triple m charges 20,000 now
according to my local promoter friction cost more than andy c..
i heard the a team costs 20 mil!
I reckon Goldie gets a fair whack for his sets. Thats purely cos hes been in James Bond though......Seriously its great that these guys are able to make a living out of it,but to make some serious wedge you would have to run a lable and control the process of getting the tunes published.None of the guys you have mentioned are purely Djs, they all control a lable or are producers and such
Bugger! Spelt "label" wrong, tut-tut.What will my english teacher think of me.
Re:imagine living in a house owned by Andy C...
Do you think he would pop round and spin at your parties, or would he be a po-faced bugger and turf you out for cranking up your sound system every weekend. Also I wonder what kind of property he specialises in?
it would be impossible to retire compfortably on just producing dnb and playin out everyweek.
Your'd need to own a label and a succseesful 1 at that
lovely little cottages, with no noise i heard!
Warehouses to stock all his unused tunes...
i dont think i would pay 1.50 for goldie let alone 1,500
