always fry mine with a splash of balsamic vinegar and sprinkle on some italian herbs, then smother it in HP sauce, imo a sexy bacon sarnie.

    how do you like yours?

cant stand the stuff, it makes me go green an veggie for about a week
Thing about cooked bacon (esp cooking bacon) is it smells EXACTLY the same as rotting pig - if you then chuck in some extra vile

Works at a meat warehouse one summer and didn't mind the pigs trotters, the "reformed meat" - esp when it fell out of the box onto the concrete and we shuvled it back in (to go make chicken burgers)
BUT when we turned up one morning on a nice hot summers day at 6am and walked down the loading bay we crossed a wall of *PUKE* vial smell.
Management had to leave 2 1tonne open-lid boxes filled with dolab meat (meat that isn't a cut, but will be minced up for sausages: eyeballs, ears, cheeks...) ALL over the weekend to rot.
This meat was too old for human consumption and the boss found a buyer in spain who would take it to boil it down to make lipstick BUT they wanted it starting to rot.

Seriously we were all pretty much throwing up for the 1st hour and then it was just background - turned me veggie for 6months mind

Chuck a handful of linguine in salted boiling water.
chop 3 slices of smoked bacon, and chuck in a hot pan. Once you see the first bits of fat sweating, chuck in 3 chopped mushrooms, and loads of cracked pepper. after 3 minutes, chuck in 3 finely chopped spring onions. Add three tablespoons of water from the pasta and give it a good stir.
Crack two egg yolks in a cup, and mix with 100gr of ground parmesan.
Drain the pasta on a colander, return the empty pot on the fire and chuck a splash of olive oil.
rinse the linguine with cold water, until theres only a little bit of steam coming out. Bring back into the pot, stir well, and add the egg mix. Stir vigorously until the egg mix has become a silky sauce. Add the bacon mix, give it a good toss, and add some more parmesan on top.

that's how i like my bacon.
